Honoring Ancestral Land
I am calling forward my ancestors whose DNA lives in me and whose opportunities and privileges I am the result
I pay homage to the Shawnee, Osage, and Kansa whose lands were taken so that the home I lived through my adolescence could be built. I give thanks to the Ute, Arapaho and Sioux whose land I live on now. I feel a great deal of confusion as to how I can best honor this history and delve into aspects of my pyche, nature and the words of elders to understand how my steps forward can reflect my desire to be in right posture with this past.
Great Waters great waters pour over me....Tequestas and Calusas tribes lived in the Florida Keys, with the Calusas being the dominant tribe, as early as 800 ACE...heal my broken places....prepare me for this love you've given me....for I am yours again...
